Dear Ken, From my fa
Dear Ken, From my family to yours, I just wanted to wish you happy holidays and thank you for your support of MADD. I hope your holiday is filled with family, friends, and joy. I had planned on leaving it at that, but earlier today, Senators Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey and Tom Udall of New Mexico introduced a bill that would require all states to require life-saving ignition interlock devices for all drunk driving offenders. Ignition interlocks prevent cars from being driven drunk (you can learn details here) and have been shown to make a significant dent in the almost 4000 lives taken at the hands of repeat drunk driving offenders each year. You can see some of the coverage here and if you'd like to let your senators know that you support this provision, you can send them an email here. But mostly I wanted to give you my best wishes during this special time of the year. Happy holidays, be safe, and we'll talk again in the new year! Happy holidays, Laura Dean-Mooney MADD National President PS. The holidays can be a tough time of year for those who have lost loved ones. If you would like to talk, MADD’s Victim Helpline is open even on Christmas and New Year’s at 877-MADD-HELP ( 877-623-3435 877-623-3435).
